Slow cooked ground beef and onion, pork and beans, light and dark kidney beans, navy beans and barbecue sauce highlight this one-pot picnic meal. Ready in just 2 hours, calico beans are ideal for packing up and taking to any outdoor picnic spot.
Ingredients -
1 pound Ground Beef, browned
1/2 cup chopped Onion, browned
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1 (16 ounces) can Tomato Sauce
1 (16 ounces) can Pork and Beans
1 (16 ounces) can Light Kidney Beans
1 (16 ounces) can Dark Kidney Beans
1 (16 ounces) can Navy Beans
4 tablespoons Prepared Mustard
1 cup of any flavor Barbecue Sauce
Salt and Pepper, to taste
Preparation:
1. In large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, brown sugar, tomato sauce, pork and beans, light kidney beans, dark kidney beans, navy beans, mustard, barbecue sauce, salt and pepper.
2. Cook on LOW 2 hours.

Beans
You could certainly substitute dry beans for the canned varieties. Take care to add additional liquid, when doing so. Consult the dry beans package for an idea of how much additional water to add to the crockpot.
