Classic Hawaiian Burger

Burgers topped with teriyaki sauce, pineapple slices, onion, lettuce, swiss cheese and bacon. Grilled burgers are served on gourmet hamburger buns.
Ingredients -
1 pound Ground Beef
3/4 cup Teriyaki Sauce
1 small can Pineapple Slices, drained, juice reserved
1 large Onion, sliced
4 Lettuce Leaves
4 Gourmet Style Large Hamburger Buns
4 slices Swiss Cheese
4 strips Bacon, fully cooked
1 tablespoon Butter
 
Preparation:

1. Preheat grill.

2. Add reserved pineapple juice, and teriyaki sauce to small bowl.

3. Place pineapple slices and 3-tablespoons of pineapple teriyaki mixture in zip-lock plastic bag.

4. Toss to coat.

5. Shape ground beef into 4 equal sized patties.

6. Grill burgers 4 to 6 minutes per side. Brush with reserved pineapple teriyaki at final minutes of cooking.

7. Remove from grill.

8. Butter hamburger buns.

9. Place buns on grill cut side down and toast lightly.

10. Remove pineapple slices from zip-lock bag. Place pineapple on grill and cook until browned and warmed through.

11. Assemble burgers with patty, pineapple slices, lettuce, onion slices, Swiss cheese and bacon.

Indirect grilling is great for cooking in the style of a barbecue pit. Place food next to, not directly over, the heat source and cover the grill to hold in the heat.
