Baby Back Barbecue Ribs

Pork ribs steamed and then grilled on the barbecue. Heavily seasoned ribs placed in foil packets are steamed in water for an hour, removed and directly grilled for 15 minutes. Ribs are basted with barbecue sauce during final cooking. Finished ribs fall off the bone.
Ingredients -
2 sheets (18x24-inches each) Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil
3 pounds Baby Back Pork Ribs
1 tablespoon packed Brown Sugar
1 tablespoon Paprika
2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
1-½ teaspoons Pepper
½ cup Water
1 ½ cups Barbecue Sauce
 
Preparation:

1. Preheat grill to medium heat.

2. Center half of ribs in single layer on each sheet of foil.

3. In a small bowl combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder and pepper.

4. Rub seasonings over ribs. Coat both sides evenly.

5. Fold foil up around ribs and seal top and one end.

6. Add ¼ cup water to open ends of packets and seal. Foil should be sealed closed but not too tight around ribs.

7. Place rib packets on grill. Cover and grill 45 to 60 minutes.

8. Remove foil and place ribs directly on grill.

9. Brush ribs with barbecue sauce. Grill 15 minutes. Brush with sauce every 5 minutes.

 



Cooking Tip
Charcoal
This recipe is well suited for a charcoal grill due to the long cooking time. Total time on the grill for these ribs is between and hour and an hour and a half. If you are using a gas grill, be sure to check the tank before starting.
